Introducing Fortnight Knives

About
When I left school at the age of 16, as you can in the UK, my first true job was as a mechanical engineering apprentice, making scientific equipment to hold liquid nitrogen, where I learned to weld, machine, solder, and do other cool things. But after a few years, I moved in to electronics and computers, which still has been my day-time focus for the last 25 years.

My love of bladesmithing was ignited while watching the show Forged in Fire. As an old Scout, I love knives, and with my history in metalworking, bladesmithing seemed like a good hobby. So I started Bladesmithing, and I have enjoy every minute of it.

Let me explain the name, because people will ask. Fortnight is the common old English word for two weeks (Wikipedia). Since my last name is Weekes (pronounced "weeks"), and at least one of my sons assists me when making a knife, it takes two Weekes, or a fortnight, to make each knife. A nice, simply play on words.
